Scope

Everything below covers the car key and lockout jobs Car Key Experts sets up with you, by phone or on this website, whether you book a time ahead or call when something goes wrong.

Car keys only

We work on vehicles: keys, remotes, smart keys, lockouts and ignitions. House, business, safe and mailbox locks are outside what we do.

Pricing

You get the price by phone, worked out from the vehicle and the problem you describe, before the service vehicle sets out. If the car needs more than expected, such as a worn ignition, the extra cost is explained before that work begins, and you are free to say no.

Proof of ownership

We ask to see a photo ID together with the title or registration before opening a vehicle or making a key. When ownership cannot be shown, we may decline the job.

Booking times and arrival

A time chosen in the booking form is a request, and we confirm the actual time by phone. Any arrival time we give is an estimate, never a promise, since traffic, weather and earlier jobs can change it.

Dealer-only vehicles

Some late-model vehicles need security access that only the dealer has. If the year and model point that way, you learn it during the call, before any trip.

Keys and fobs bought elsewhere

Before programming a key or remote bought somewhere else, we check whether it suits your vehicle. Many cannot be programmed, and parts that did not come from us carry no promise from us.

Children or pets inside a locked car

Call 911 first, above all in summer heat or winter cold. Emergency services come before any locksmith.

Idaho law governs these terms and any work done under them.
