Car Key Experts is a mobile car locksmith based in Nampa, Idaho, and car keys are the only work we take on. There is no shop to visit: we come to the vehicle, wherever it is parked.

What we do

We make a new key when every key is gone, copy a key that still works, program remotes and push-to-start smart keys, and pair chip keys with the car’s immobilizer. We also open locked doors and trunks, pull broken key pieces out of locks, and repair ignitions that fight the key.

Why only car keys? A car key holds up to three working parts, and each one fails in its own way: the blade that turns the locks, the chip the car must recognize before the engine runs, and the remote that locks and unlocks from a distance. Sticking to that one subject is what lets us tell you on the phone which part failed and what has to be made. See every car key service or keys sorted by make.

On board the service vehicle

The service vehicle carries a key cutting machine, blanks for many makes, and programming equipment that pairs chips and remotes with the car. With those at hand, the new key is finished beside your car instead of being ordered in.

How a visit goes

  • The call. You tell us what went wrong with the key, where the car sits, and its year, make and model.
  • The price. We explain the cost on that same call, before the trip. If the car turns out to need more, the added cost is spelled out and waits for your OK.
  • The key. The blade is cut, then the chip and the remote are paired with your car at the vehicle.
  • The test. You try every key, button and lock yourself before we leave.

Proof of ownership comes first

  • A photo ID plus the vehicle’s registration or title, checked before any car is opened or any key is made.
  • Car not in your name? Call first, and we explain what is needed.
  • The reason is simple: nobody else should be able to get a key to your car.
